A presentation & hands-on workshop
September 21, 2013 at 7 PM at a location approx. an hour from Albany.

Cost: $10 Members. $20 Guests. Guests must be sponsored by a current member who also attends the party.
This class will show some variations of rope; Nylon, Hemp, cotton, sisal, twisted, braided, and which types are better for which uses. How to make your selection before investing a little or a lot of money. Which hold knots better, which to NOT use for suspension. Allergies to some of the ropes. Uses for rope “other” than bondage. Introduction to the knots used in rope play. (If you can tie your shoes, you know them.) Some suggestions for using rope; bondage for play, bondage for sex, decoration, art, and clothing. Safety; equipment, placement of rope. If you wish to practice, you will need at least 1 piece of rope, 10 feet or more, 1/4 inch (6mm), or 3/8 inch (8mm), or ½ inch (10mm). Do NOT bring treated Manila (if it smells like gas, oil, kerosene, etc., it is treated)

Old Jim has been in and out of the BDSM or alternative lifestyle for 45 years. He has conducted private and small group workshops, and larger group presentations in Seattle, New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts (including Bound-in-Boston in early 2012). Most of his workshops and presentations are about rope, rope for play, rope bondage and rope suspension. He is also an experienced teacher in fire play, cupping – both vacuum and fire, knife play, electrical play, erotic photography, caning, flogging/single tail whips for both pleasure and pain, toy making/construction, and party etiquette.
